Aucklanders will pay just under 4% more in local body rates for the next year.
The Auckland Council has confirmed the first region-wide rate rise since amalgamation at 3.94% - lower than its initial target.
The charges for sewerage and wastewater will rise by 4.5%.
The rate rise achieves the lowest target set by councillors and comes with an $81 million budget cut in the council's behind-the-scenes costs.
Mayor Len Brown says the budget for the year starting in July will deliver all the spending plans of the eight councils amalgamated in November last year.
Auckland Council expects the rise to be one of the lowest among cities around the country.
