Some of the most famous film stars in India say more productions should be made in New Zealand.

Prime Minister John Key visited the set of the Bollywood blockbuster Players during the last leg of his official trip.

Mr Key has announced a two-way agreement which would give film-makers visiting New Zealand the same benefits as local producers, including access to funding and help with temporary immigration and importing equipment.

On the set of Players actor Bipasha Basu said she would love to see even more Indian productions in New Zealand.

Co-star Abhishek Bachchan agrees, saying they are trying to convince the directors to hold the premiere there.

Mr Key says Bollywood provides incredible publicity for New Zealand, but improved air links would also benefit tourism.
