A woman has been killed by rocks falling from a cliff face on Auckland's North Shore.
Police say the woman, who was aged 40, was walking her two dogs at about 1pm on Saturday when she was struck by rocks at Rothesay Bay.
Auckland Council engineers have checked the cliff and are warning people to avoid the area.
They have added signage to the walkways warning of ongoing erosion.
The woman's name will be released once next of kin have been notified.
