Trade critic says TPP talks could collapse

A critic of the Trans Pacific Partnership trade talks says it's unlikely any deal will be agreed upon for at least two years and the negotiations could yet collapse.

Professor Jane Kelsey of Auckland University says the negotiations are being conducted on the United States' terms and New Zealand stands to gain little. Nine countries are involved.

Professor Kelsey says the talks are unlikely to be resolved until after next year's US presidential election, because of their size and ambitious nature.
