A Hamilton boy who was hit by a car while crossing the road has died in Waikato Hospital.
Shaun Malthus, 13, was knocked down while he was crossing Ruakura Road on his way to school on 30 June.
Police say the 17-year-old male driver attempted to avoid hitting the boy but was unable to. An investigation is still underway.
Shaun Malthus's aunt, Karen Malthus, says family members are grateful for the support they have received from the public and now ask for privacy as they grieve for their loss.
