Southland driving conditions still treacherous

5:27 am on 15 July 2011

Snow showers are expected to continue over most of Southland and Clutha into Friday, making roads treacherous.

However, MetService says the snow will gradually become lighter and less frequent.

It says through to 9am on Friday between two and five centimetres of snow can be expected above 200 metres.

Motorists should be wary of black ice throughout the region.
