Remains recovered from water near Leigh

Police say human remains near the Goat Island marine reserve, near Leigh, north of Auckland, have now been recovered by the dive squad.

The remains were trapped 16m underwater between rocks.

Police say the remains are of an adult of small stature, and no clothing or other identifiable features were found.

They say DNA will be used for identification. A post-mortem will be conducted.
