A Fire Service spokesperson says the Gasoline Alley service station went up in flames about 1.30am on Tuesday.
In Ngahinapuri, west of Hamilton, an old country church was destroyed in a blaze that started about 4am on Tuesday.
The Fire Service is investigating the cause of both fires.
