Otago have beaten Auckland 32-25 in their provincial rugby match at Eden Park, ending a 35-year losing streak at the ground as well as winning the Lin Colling Memorial Trophy for the first time.
Otago trailed by 15-9 at half-time but scored three second half tries which, combined with fullback Glen Dickson's five penalties and a conversion, was enough for the historic victory.
Otago have now won both their opening games, while Auckland remain winless, having lost to Canterbury on Sunday.
In the earlier Championship game at Pukekohe, Counties-Manukau beat Manawatu by the same 32 to 25 scoreline.
