Whangarei's roads are almost back to normal following last week's heavy rain.
A sudden downpour on Friday caused flash flooding and the displacement of many manhole covers.
Whangarei District Council roading manager Jeff Devine says all roads in the region are now passable.
However, Mr Devine says there are a number of new potholes, which will be fixed as soon as possible.
