The Transport Agency has extended a section of the south-western motorway in Auckland that is closed during work on a new intersection and noise walls.
The Maioro Street section, between Sandringham road and Richardson road, connects to most central and western suburbs, as well as Manukau and the airport.
That area is closed for at least the next three weeks.
This weekend the closure extends another 1km to the Dominion Road interchange.
NZTA says motorists need to find alternate routes and should be prepared for long delays.
