NZ dancers shine at Hip-Hop champs

Updated at 8:08 pm on 2 August 2011

New Zealand has won a swag of medals at the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships in Las Vegas.

The teams won three gold and two silver medals.

Brett Goebel of Auckland's Palace Dance Studios, who is leading the tour, says it was an amazing experience to hear the New Zealand national anthem played three times at the awards ceremony.

Mr Goebel told Checkpoint their determination and belief in their choreography saw the winning teams triumph over 50 other dance crews.

He says the teams can't believe what they've achieved and are looking forward to coming home and sharing their victories with family and friends.
