Three separate investigations will be held into the death of an aviation engineer killed while working on a jet engine.
Miles Hunter, 51, from Renwick in Blenheim, died during a routine maintenance operation on Monday morning at Safe Air, an aviation repair and manufacturing company that is a subsidiary of Air New Zealand.
The Department of Labour is investigating the death. Police are assisting that investigation as well as conducting their own inquiry on behalf of the coroner.
Air New Zealand will also do an internal inquiry.
The Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union says it is not aware of any health and safety problems at the company.
