Power has been restored in Wellington after thousands of customers were affected on Tuesday.
A spokesperson from Wellington Electricity and Lines says the incident happened just after 2.30pm at a sub-station affecting about 3000 customers.
The spokesperson says it affected the suburbs of Mt Victoria, Newtown, Oriental Bay and the central city.
All power to customers and traffic lights was restored just after 4.30pm.
