Police are to decide on Thursday whether to continue a search for a man, missing presumed drowned, near Auckland.
A helicopter has been checking the shoreline of Martin's Bay looking for the man, who was reported missing on Wednesday morning.
Anthony Preston, 41, from Warkworth, was one of five people on an aluminium launch which sank on Tuesday afternoon. The other four swam to safety.
Police say that the group were not wearing lifejackets.
Inspector Mark Hall says the search is likely to continue only if something of interest is found.
