Several trains travelling from Wellington to Porirua will be cancelled on Thursday due to mechanical issues.
Six services travelling to Porirua between 4pm and 6.30pm on Thursday are cancelled.
Tranz Metro has advised passengers on affected lines to use the Waikanae service instead.
The 5:50pm Wellington to Taita and the 6:22pm Taita to Wellington will also be cancelled.
Services on the Melling line will be replaced by buses between 3.25pm and 6.07pm.
KiwiRail says recent bad weather, including heavy snow and gales, have placed extra stress on staff and as a result there has been a spike in the number of mechanical issues.
