Four workers have been taken to hospital following a chemical spill at a factory in Timaru.

Four workers have been taken to hospital following a chemical spill at a factory in Timaru.

The Fire Service says about 300 litres of tanning chemicals were spilt at the New Zealand Light Leathers Factory on Monday.

It says an ambulance took the workers were treated for skin contamination and fume inhalation.

The spill has been contained and all but one of the workers has been discharged from hospital.
