The Auckland Police Maritime Unit has confirmed a body found in the Hauraki Gulf is that of a boatie who disappeared last week.
Anthony Preston, 41, of Warkworth, was fishing from an aluminium launch when it capsized near Kawau Island on 16 August.
Four other people in the boat managed to swim to safety.
A dive squad located a man's body on Tuesday afternoon and police say Mr Preston's family have been informed.
