A large scrub fire has consumed three sheds and destroyed some farm equipment in Canterbury.
The Fire Service was called to the blaze on McKendrys Road, near Methven, just after 3am on Saturday.
Fire has burnt through a 1.5km stretch of macrocarpa trees along the roadside.
Nine fire appliances are at the site early on Saturday.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
