A body has been found near Napier and police say the discovery may be linked with the disappearance of Hastings man Johnny Wright.
Mr Wright has not been seen since early June. Police launched a homicide investigation earlier this month after an examination of two houses he lived in indicated some sort of violence may have occurred.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave de Lange says police cordoned off an area of land on Waipunga Rd in the rural area of Eskdale north west of Napier over the weekend, following information from a member of the public.
A post-mortem will be carried out.
