A couplefound dead at a residential property in the Western Bay of Plenty have been named by the police.
They are 43-year-old Scott Meikle and Gail Almond, who was 41.
They were found by police on Sunday afternoon at a property in Pukehina.
Police were continuing their scene examination at the property and an ESR team was to remain there until the end of Tuesday.
Detective Inspector Mark Loper says the bodies would be taken to Auckland for a post mortem to be carried out on Tuesday morning.
He says until then police will not be speculating on the cause of death nor on whether any weapons may have been involved.
