St Teresa's Catholic primary school in the Wellington suburb of Karori is closed on Friday due to a flu epidemic.
Seventy of the 218 pupils at the school, and four staff were absent on Thursday due to sickness.
Acting principal Jillian Carberry says there has been an increasing number of children absent due to flu-related illness since last Friday.
The school will open again on Monday.
