Entertainer Jon Gadsby has again been convicted of drink-driving.

Gadsby 57, was found to be 2.5 times over the legal limit in June.

He was pulled over by police in the Christchurch suburb of Merivale late on a Friday night.

He told them he had drunk three glasses of wine and a glass of beer.

Judge Alistair Garland on Friday convicted Gadsby and ordered him to appear for sentencing in Rangiora District Court in December.

Gadsby is best known as half of the comedy duo McPhail & Gadsby and as a writer. It's not the first time he has been convicted of drink-driving.
