A post mortem is to be carried out on the body of a man found in Lake Arapuni near Putaruru.
It was found in The Landing area of the lake at about 4pm on Friday.
Police say formal identification of the body is not yet possible due to the length of time it has been in the water.
Two fishermen are missing on the lake. Jordan Pooley, 21, and James Roberts, 45, went on a fishing trip on 28 August. An alarm was raised three days later.
A search for the other man will continue on Saturday.
