An eight-year-old girl who was critically injured in a collision involving a school bus and a logging truck last week is out of intensive care.

The collision on Monday last week near Ruatoki in Bay of Plenty resulted in 35 children and the truck driver being treated in North Island hospitals.

Auckland District Health Board says the eight-year-old girl, who is in Starship Hospital, was moved on Tuesday from intensive care to a ward.

The only other child still in hospital is a 12-year-old boy who is comfortable and stable in Tauranga Hospital.

Another 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl were discharged from Tauranga Hospital on Tuesday.
