Three more in court over pilot stunt at airport

5:30 pm on 20 September 2011

Three more men charged in connection with the impersonation of an Air New Zealand pilot at Auckland airport on Saturday have appeared in court.

A man wearing an Air New Zealand pilot's uniform tried to get into a restricted area but was turned away because he did not have the correct identification.

It subsequently transpired that the attempted security breach was a stunt by people working for the TV3 show Wanna-ben.

Three people - production company staff Ben Boyce, Andrew Robinson and Bryce Casey - were charged on Monday with breaching the Civil Aviation Act.

They face a penalty of 12 months' jail or a fine of up to $10,000.

On Tuesday, a 27-year-old cameraman, a 40-year-old sound recordist and a 24-year-old production coordinator also appeared in the Manukau District Court.

Their names were suppressed and all have been given bail.
