A woman is being treated for stab wounds in Wellington Hospital following an incident in the Lower Hutt suburb of Naenae.
Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Cooper says emergency services were called to a house in Cambridge Terrace just after 2pm on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old is in a serious condition in the intensive care unit.
