A 20-year-old unemployed Lower Hutt man has appeared in court charged with assaulting another man who remains on life support with head injuries.
Police say the victim was with two friends when attacked on Tory Street, in the central city, about 3.50am on Thursday 15 September.
Ioritana Tuau appeared in the Wellington District Court on Wednesday and remanded on bail without plea.
The judge imposed a 9pm - 7am curfew on Mr Tuau who is due to reappear in court on 5 October.
Police say they are are looking for two other men.
