Zone outcome awaited by school

3:08 pm on 27 September 2011

Parents, pupils and teachers say they are confused about what the Ministry of Education intends to do over proposed zone changes at Remarkables Primary School in Queenstown.

The ministry instructed the school's board four months ago to reduce the size of the zone because too many children want to attend the school.

It has now told the school it is unable to approve the new zone because of 'inconsistencies' within the proposal.

School principal Debbie Dickson says these could have been easily ironed out with a phone call.

With eight weeks of the term left, she says prospective parents and pupils are no closer to knowing if they can attend the school next year.
