Dunedin police are searching for the driver of a car they pursued for more than 20 kilometres.
Senior Sergeant Bruce Ross says the pursuit began at about 2am Wednesday and the car was followed through the suburbs of Corstophine and Caversham before it crashed in South Dunedin.
Senior Sergeant Ross says the driver jumped out and ran off and has not yet been found.
Officers spoke to two passengers in the car but they did not give much information.
