A 20-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to murdering his New Zealand girlfriend in the English town of Bournemouth in May.

Elliott Turner has appeared at Winchester Crown Court accused of murdering 17-year-old Emily Longley.

He also denied a charge of perverting the course of justice, and was remanded in custody

Elliot Turner is accused of failing to telephone the emergency services and attempting to persuade his mother to change her account to the police.

His parents, Leigh and Anita, 53 and 50, also pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice and were bailed.

A trial of all three is expected to start on 16 April next year and is expected to last four weeks, the BBC reports.

Miss Longley was living with relatives in Bournemouth when she was found dead on 7 May.
