A team from Victoria University has won first prize for engineering in an American competition to build solar powered houses.
Led by students from the School of Architecture, the team is among 20 universities from around the world competing in the Energy Solar Decathlon in Washington DC.
The competition is made up of 10 contests, in which the New Zealand entry, a bach known as Meridian First Light house, also won second prize for architecture.
