Bouncer to defend charge over Tindall footage

3:23 pm on 3 October 2011

A bouncer charged with stealing CCTV footage of English rugby captain Mike Tindall with a woman in a Queenstown bar will defend the charge.

Jonathan Dixon has been remanded on bail in the Queenstown District Court and will reappear on 17 October for a status hearing.

A duty solicitor pleaded not guilty on Mr Dixon's behalf to a charge of accessing a computer system for dishonest purposes.

Images of the England captain, who is in New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup, were published on the internet.

The closed circuit TV footage from the bar showed a man described as Tindall holding hands with and kissing a woman.

Tindall married the Queen's granddaughter, Zara Phillips, earlier this year.

Outside court on Monday, Mr Dixon told reporters that he has yet to see the police evidence against him.
