New Zealand have beaten England 62-40 in the first of their two-Test netball series in Auckland.
The Silver Ferns began the first quarter in frenetic pace on Monday and ended it leading by eight goals.
England's new-look defence minus veterans Geva Mentor and Sonia Mkoloma struggled to contain goal shoot Irene Van Dyk, who missed only once.
Van Dyk and goal attack Anna Thompson were replaced at half time, with the Silver Ferns ahead 34-18.
Coach Ruth Aitken brought in a new team of shooters for the second half with Maria Tutaia at goal attack and Catherine Latu at goal shoot.
Latu celebrated her belated debut with a confident long-range shot and finished with 17 from 17.
The second Test is in Invercargill on Thursday night.
