The occupants of a Nelson house threatened by a slip caused by steady rain over the past two days have been evacuated.
Nelson City Council says the people are being accommodated in a motel while the slip is assessed. It's possible the house will have to be abandoned.
The council says other slips around Nelson are not causing major problems.
Heavy rain led to a failure on Sunday in a wastewater pumping station which was repaired but failed again on Monday.
As a result, about 20,000 cubic metres of diluted sewage was discharged into Tasman Bay.
A ban on shellfish collection there is in place.
