A Hawera man has been ordered to pay $65,000 to the Accident Compensation Corporation for fraud.

Roger John Jenkins pleaded guilty to the charge at the New Plymouth Court on Monday.

The ACC says Mr Jenkins said he had been in permanent, farm-based employment for a year leading up to his injury.

He was then paid $65,000 in lost earnings over a 27-month period.

However, the information proved to be incorrect and Mr Jenkins was order to pay the entire sum back in reparation.
