Wellington DHB in high court challenge

8:17 pm on 14 October 2011

A health care provider is challenging a decision by Wellington's district health board to axe its contract.

Healthcare New Zealand provides support in homes for disabled and elderly people.

The Capital and Coast District Health Board has cut its providers from three organisations to two, with Presbyterian Support Central and Access Home Health awarded the two contracts from December.

Healthcare New Zealand is arguing in the High Court in Wellington for the DHB's decision to be revoked in the interim.

Justice Mackenzie is expected to reserve his decision.
