A man assaulted in his Auckland home is in hospital with serious head injuries.
The police say it appears the 30-year-old was hit with a baseball bat, which was also used to cause significant damage to the property.
The man was assaulted in Apirana Avenue in Glen Innes at 2pm on Saturday.
Police say they have arrested one person and are looking for others.
