Police name missing Foxton fisherman

6:30 pm on 23 October 2011

Police say the search for a man presumed drowned off the coast of Foxton, in Horowhenua, will resume on Monday.

Colin Robert Chrystall, 38, from Foxton, went missing when his aluminium catamaran sank at about 6.30pm on Saturday.

A 45-year-old man from Levin, who was also on board, managed to raise the alarm after swimming ashore near Hokio Beach, south of Foxton, at about 3am on Sunday.

Authorities will search the area again on Monday after high tide.

Police say it is highly unlikely Mr Chrystall would have survived so many hours in the cold water.
