Selwyn boil water notice lifted

6:52 pm on 25 October 2011

A boil water notice in the Canterbury district of Selwyn has been lifted.

Last week the Selwyn District Council advised residents in the Malvern Hills Rural Water Scheme area to immediately begin boiling water, after high levels of E-coli were discovered.

The affected areas included Dalethorpe, Hartleys Road, Glentunnel, and Sheffield.

The council began chlorinating the water straight away and tests over the past three days have shown clear results so people can start drinking the water again.
