Police are hunting a prisoner who escaped from Wanganui District Court just before midday on Friday.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Rickie Shane Stampa, 27, who is thought to have connections in Whanganui and Palmerston North.
Police say he has convictions for reckless driving and failing to stop, and members of the public should not let him use their car or travel in a car with him.
Stampa is describe as Pakeha, of medium build and 175 centimetres tall.
