The Northland Regional Council has appointed a new chief executive.
He's Malcolm Nicholson, who's currently the chief executive of Far North Holdings - the commercial arm of the Far North District Council.
He replaces Ken Paterson, who left in July to head the Tauranga City Council.
Mr Nicholson - who holds a commerce degree and a Masters in Business Administration - will take up his new post in January.
