An Armed Offenders callout in the Wellington suburb of Kilbirnie has resulted in one arrest, but no weapons were found.
Acting Wellington police area commander Inspector Simon Perry says police and the Armed Offenders Squad stopped a vehicle on the corner of Duncan Terrace and Kilbirnie Crescent just before 2pm on Monday.
Mr Perry says police believed the occupants of the car were carrying firearms; however, no firearms were located.
One person was instead arrested for minor drug-related offences.
