Fare increases of about 5% for some bus and train services in Wellington take effect on Tuesday.
The Wellington Regional Council has raised fares for multi-trip tickets, monthly passes, school passes and Snapper card journeys.
Cash fares on buses and trains between zones nine and 14 will also go up. Special stadium train fares will rise by $2 for a round trip for adults and by $1 for children.
The council says the increases are to cover public transport costs, which have been going up by about 3% a year.
