The armed offenders squad searched a house in the Wellington suburb of Mount Cook on Wednesday morning as part of a hunt for three men wanted in connection to some serious assaults.
Arrest warrants for Dean Wilson and Lausii Taualupe, both 26, and Samuel Gray, 19, relate to three assaults in Wellington at the end of August.
Police blocked off Rolleston and Hargreaves Streets as part of the search.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton says the trio is actively avoiding police.
He says officers intend to visit friends and associates of the men as well as gang members in the capital as part of the search.
Police say the three men are considered dangerous and should not be approached.
