Police have made an arrest in relation to death of man in Hamilton on Tuesday night.
Abdi Awad, 42, a Somali national, was stabbed a number of times.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton says a man has been charged with murder and possession of an illegal weapon.
Mr Awad was taken to Waikato hospital but was unable to be revived.
Police initially treated the case as a sudden death.
