Emergency services had a busy Guy Fawkes with more than 230 callouts.
It's not sure if all of the calls were related to fireworks, but the fires ranged from minor blazes in rubbish bins and letterboxes, to two house fires in Auckland early on Saturday evening.
St John Ambulance had five fireworks-related callouts north of Morrinsville last night.
Four people were taken to hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
