Police in Gisborne have arrested and charged a Mongrel Mob member with firing a gun during a gang fight in the city early Sunday morning.
They had been seeking the 33 year old following a fight in Cobden Street that involved 15 members and associates of two rival gangs.
Police say a lot of people were nearby and it was fortunate no one was hurt.
The man gave himself up at the city's police station late on Tuesday afternoon and will appear in court on Wednesday charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm with intent.
Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
