Sex tours 'not intended' to appeal to paedophiles

The first New Zealander to be charged with organising and promoting a sex tour says his Thailand touring website could have appealed to paedophiles but that was not its intention.

The 47-year-old was arrested last year after an undercover Police Officer posed as an interested client, asking the accused to help him find underage boys to have sex with in Thailand.

At the High Court in Auckland on Wednesday, Crown prosecutors told the court that keywords on the website, such as boy and gay sex, may have been triggers for people wanting to sleep with underage children in Thailand.

The man says while this could be likely, his website was only for legal tours.

The trial is expected to end on Thursday, with the judge likely to reserve his decision.
