The High Court has reserved its decision on whether the man accused of killing a Feilding farmer should be put on trial in Palmerston North or elsewhere.
Scott Guy's body was found in the driveway of his home in July last year.
He had been shot dead.
Mr Guy's brother-in-law Ewen Macdonald has since been charged with his murder.
Tuesday's hearing in the High Court in Wellington also considered the admissibility of some evidence.
Justice Simon France suppressed all details of the hearing.
